Third edition of the film festival “Un altro genere di cinema” (Another Kind of Cinema). Two events at the Cinema Arsenale in Pisa with free admission

“Un altro genere di cinema” (Another kind of cinema) returns on May 22, the free film festival organized by the University of Pisa, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, and the Scuola Normale Superiore to promote the Interuniversity Help Desk against Gender Violence.
The festival, which this year benefits from the organizational support of Sinistra per... dell'Università di Pisa, offers two events at the Cinema Arsenale in Pisa, with screenings and talks dedicated to the themes of identity, gender violence, sexual orientation, discrimination, subjectivity, and rights.
Thursday, May 22, at 9:00 p.m., there will be a screening of “Il coraggio di Blanche” by Valérie Donzelli (France, 2023), with talks by Barbara D'Arienzo of Sinistra per... University of Pisa, Armanda Cetrulo of the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, Serena Leoni and Mariangela Carbone of CAV Casa della Donna di Pisa and Nuovo Maschile.
The second and final event will take place on Thursday, June 5, at 9:00 p.m. with “Una donna fantastica” by Sebastián Lelio (Chile, 2017). Barbara D'Arienzo, Sinistra per... Università di Pisa, Chiara Tognolotti of the University of Pisa, Maria Enrica Virgillito of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, and Pinkriot Arcigay Pisa will engage in a discussion with the audience.
The festival is organized by the Joint Guarantee Committees of the University of Pisa, the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, and the Scuola Normale Superiore to promote a culture of gender equality and combat violence and discrimination. It also aims to raise awareness of the activities of the Interuniversity Help Desk Against Gender Violence, which was set up through collaboration between the three universities with the support of the Casa della Donna in Pisa.
